Facebook Food Marketplace
For the AWARD School social brief, we were asked by OzHarvest to fight food waste by targeting young professionals who buy food but forget to meal plan or cook when life gets busy.
Facebook Marketplace is where young professionals redistribute their unwanted goods. To take advantage of this and reduce food waste, OzHarvest will partner with Facebook to create a new category: FOOD. Users will be able to upload their blemished, leftover or forgotten ingredients for locals in their area to pick up and put to good use.
1. Users upload or browse Facebook food marketplace.
2. They message a local and pick up their ingredients.
Young adults, professionals and students can save money by skipping grocery stores, and together communities can redistribute their ugly foods to fight waste.
